Job Position: Midwife
Location: Lagos, Aiyetoro Health Centre or other Health Centres with MSF intervention
Working Hours: 48 hours week, average.
Reporting: Health Center Manager and Midwife manager

Responsibilities:
Antenatal care:
- Provide ANC according to Obstetrics in Remote Settings and MSF protocols
- Ensure current vaccination status and send to EPI for needed immunizations
- Invite discussion about Family Planning at appropriate opportunities
- Maintain clear and legible prenatal records
Low Risk Labor and delivery:
- On arrival to post, check supplies, equipment, sterile instrument packs, and medications are in order
- Provide respectful, kind and gentle support to woman and her caregivers during labor
- Provide for Active Management of the Third Stage of Delivery
Newborn care and resuscitation:
- Assess for need to resuscitate
- Initiate Neonatal Resuscitation if indicated by apnea or heart rate less than 100bpm.
- Provide cord care, Vitamin K, vaccinations, and eye infection prophylaxis.
Post-Partum and Newborn Routine Care:
· Assess health status of the newborn and post delivery status of the mother
· Teach mother and baby danger signs, when to return to health centre; offer Family Planning, discuss available methods; review vaccination schedule
Qualifications & required skills:
- Graduate from a recognized school of nursing and midwifery.
- Current license to practice
- Knows, understands and respects MSF charter.
- Due to the nature of MSF operations, flexibility is indispensable and unavoidable
Experience: Minimum of one year experience working as a midwife
Languages: Essential: Fluent in English Desirable: Local languages
